Join McKesson Medical-Surgical (MMS) at the forefront of healthcare innovation. We’re seeking a visionary Senior Product Manager in the Richmond, VA area to spearhead the launch of a transformative product that will impact both our primary care and extended care markets. In this pivotal role, you will drive strategic initiatives that directly impact our growth and enhance patient care, positioning MMS as a leader in this space. We are looking for an experienced product professional who can help us commercialize and monetize the new solution – ensuring the product offering aligns with business goals and customer needs.
What You’ll Do:
- Shape and steer the product vision and strategy: Develop and articulate a clear product vision, aligning it with company strategy and market trends. Drive business case development from ideation to acceptance across stakeholders and technology partners, with an emphasis on how to commercialize the product.
- Drive results with relentless customer focus: Uncover and address customer needs through rigorous research and data analysis, driving product innovations that resonate with users. Understand adoption levers and strategy and remove barriers that are preventing adoption.
- Ruthlessly prioritize features: Prioritize features and functionalities based on business impact, user value, technical feasibility, and return on investment. You will define business requirements for these features based on overall product strategy.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Lead cross-functional teams in a collaborative environment, fostering innovation and ensuring seamless product delivery. Be a catalyst for change and an advocate for our product, building strong partnerships across Sales, Technology, and beyond.
- Leverage data to make decisions: Monitor key product metrics, analyze data to identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven decisions on how to drive revenue and improve customer experience.
- Be the face of the product: Communicate product strategy effectively to senior leadership, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams. Advocate and promote the product both internally and externally.
- Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet company goals.
What You Need:
- Strong Product Management Expertise: Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, user-centered design principles, and Agile methodologies. We need you to be strong in these principles on Day One.
- Commercialization Experience: Ideally, you’ve got experience bringing a new product offering to market, including monetization strategies.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to gather, analyze data, and draw actionable insights to inform decision-making. You understand which metrics help us understand if we are successful or if we need to course-correct, and you take quick action.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey product vision and strategy to diverse audiences. You should be able to nimbly advocate and influence for the product across the organization.
- Leadership and Influence: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams to achieve product goals, without direct reporting authority over these teams.
- Teamwork Mindset: You approach your work with the understanding that our partners share our goals. You hold yourself and your partners accountable for reaching our shared results in a respectful and collaborative manner.
- Business Acumen: Understanding of business drivers, market dynamics, and financial implications of product decisions. You make decisions based on return on investment (ROI) both in terms of time and money.
- Technical Knowledge: Basic understanding of technology and development processes to effectively collaborate with engineering teams and drive resolution of blockers as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
