Job Description
The VAXPR&D department in West Point, PA is seeking a highly motivated individual for the Lab Operations team in support of our company's expanding vaccine pipeline. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining the various operational aspects of the process development laboratories. They will be part of a team that will work closely with process development teams to provide support in the areas of equipment, facilities, procurement, and safety. They are expected to work well in teams, including cross-functional collaboration with various support functions (e.g. maintenance, health services, asset recovery, shipping, safety, vendors).
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
Supporting process development laboratories through routine operational functions
Facilitating completion of work orders for routine equipment and facility maintenance in collaboration with both internal and external partners
Ordering and maintaining inventory of equipment & consumables utilized across labs
Onboarding new hires
Managing annual safety and medical certifications for departmental staff
Education:
BS in Biological Sciences or Engineering
Required Experience and Skills:
Minimum 2 years of experience in laboratory support operations for a scientific/technical environment (e.g. facilities, equipment)
Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and balance long and short-term objectives
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency with MS Office suite of applications
Demonstrated ability to streamline and innovate
Materials management experience (procurement, storage, disposal, asset recovery)
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Proficient in MTrack, ProCal, LAMP, Ariba, iCAM, SAP, MEDS, myLearning, and COSMIC
Proficient in troubleshooting equipment (e.g. tube labelers)
Familiar with upstream and downstream processes and equipment (e.g. bioreactors, HPLC)
