Our Collins Aerospace York, NE site is a manufacturer of highly engineered precision components supporting both commercial and military customers. Manufactured components are used primarily in generators and Ram Air Turbines (RAT) used for aircraft emergency power generation. Our Ram Air Turbines save lives, over 2,600 lives.
What You Will Do
- Perform machine setup and runs on CNC Laser Marking Machines
- Prepare finished goods for storage, assembly or shipment through our cleaning process.
- Use a variety of hand tools to remove Burrs, or sharp edges.
- Read, interpret and comprehend, process prints, engineering and quality standards, and other informational drawings and work instructions.
- Monitor tooling for wear and usage, changing and setting tools as needed.
- Monitor part specific dimensional tolerances while performing the operation & Identify non-conforming part features (Optical Comparator, Castings)
- Monitor Concentration and Temperature levels of cleaning fluids
- Verify all Inspection Equipment in use is current to calibration requirements
- Verify Marking Ink shelf life. (Expiration Date)
- Maintain accurate documentation and system inputs (shop traveler, labor charging, production tracking software, inspection results, etc.)
- Maintains work area to 5S requirements (see physical requirements)
- Completes required Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities at required intervals
- Follow proper material handling and packaging techniques to avoid damage (see physical requirements)
- Monitor tooling kanbans
- Identify and report process inefficiencies, machine issues, and improvement opportunities (QCPC turnbacks)
- Follow work priorities to accomplish production goals
- Can handle contact with coolants, cleaning fluids, and oils (petroleum based products) and chemical vapors from products during the normal manufacturing/cleaning process.
- Obtain and maintain required Inspection Certification(s)
- Additional responsibilities and duties as assigned
3rd Shift: Sunday - Thursday, 11:00 pm – 7:00 AM
Training Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 am – 3:00 pm for ~90 days.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D. in the US) or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience
