Description
We are seeking a Director, National Sales to take a strong regional bespoke investment solution that is GIPs compliant and maximizes tax efficiency for legacy securities currently targeting non-wire house and other regional wealth management platforms and significantly expand both the scope and scale of sales goals, and the sophistication of distribution processes. The Director, National Sales will be responsible for deepening the relationships with home office sales leaders and third party investment manager gate keepers for these platforms.
- Drive relationships at the home offices of various partners nationally in non-wirehouse broker/dealers and bank brokerage platforms, complementing several very successful sales professionals who already manage a $4+ mil revenue business in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.
- Establish the strategic direction for sales efforts, including sales system, channelization, pipeline development, forecast management, KPIs and metrics, budgets, and training.
- Work with the other members of the management team on developing and using industry leading technology tools in data aggregation, data analytics, marketing programs and sales enablement.
- Ability to maintain the proper balance between the needs of the sales force and the overall financial goals of the firm.
- Track record of hiring and retaining superior performers and a willingness to upgrade the sales team over time.
- Maintain a high-energy culture through mentoring, training, and motivating the sales team, and through personal sales initiatives that are visible in the field such as creating new introductions and assisting with complex negotiations, presentations, and sales calls.
Requirements
- Successful 10+ year track record in investment product sales into SMA/UMA platforms within the regional B/D and regional bank trust channels, probably developed with another outsourced investment management services provider or TAMP.
- Extensive contacts and deep relationships with key distributor platform players, including sales leaders and gatekeepers.
- Strong record of leading programmatic discipline in sales processes and integrating new technologies while maintaining a strong “esprit de corps” in the field.
- Knowledge of bleeding edge marketing and sales technology tools, including big data driven predictive analytics, and the ability to bring the whole organization along to quick and productive adoption of these sales enablement tools and processes.
- Strong finance and investment credentials, most likely including an undergraduate degree in finance or business, an MBA, or a certification like a CFA.
- Some experience leading small sales teams is strongly preferred.
- Strong communication skills to articulate and able to convey important messages in a clear and compelling manner.
