The Human Resource Division is responsible for the timely, accurate, equitable, effective and efficient delivery of all human resources management services, i.e. strategic staff planning, recruitment, staff administration , organizational and design and learning/career development, for the continuous development and improvement in human resource operations, policies, and methods to align with UN Women evolving business needs and for providing advisory support to the Executive Director in the formulation and implementation of UN Women's overall mission, strategy and plans of actions.
The Human Resource Workplace Relations team is responsible for supporting the creation and maintenance of an inclusive, diverse, productive and positive work environment in UN Women and is the organizational unit responsible for UN Women’s internal response to sexual exploitation and abuse (SEA) and sexual harassment (SH).
Under the supervision and guidance of the HR Workplace Relations Advisor, the PSEA and SH Specialist will provide technical support and guidance on matters related to the internal prevention of and response to SEA and SH but will also support in the areas of workplace relations and standards of conduct at HQ and at various field locations.
Key Functions and Accountabilities:
Provide technical guidance and support on UN Women policies and procedures to address SEA and SH
- Act as a focal point for internal and UN system-wide taskforces and working groups related to SEA and SH and in this capacity build relationships across the organization and liaise with UN agencies and other stakeholders;
- Support the implementation of UN Women policies and procedures for tackling SEA and SH;
- Contribute to all system-wide requirements for a strengthened United Nations response to SEA and SH;
- Support the implementation of the organizational SEA and SH risk assessment and mitigation processes as part of enterprise risk management;
- Develop and facilitate the implementation of the annual corporate PSEA and SH workplans and support the operationalization of the PSEA and SH workplans in country offices;
- Provide technical guidance concerning appropriate prevention, risk mitigation and response strategies to advance a victim/survivor-centered approach;
- Guide personnel on the prevention of and response to SEA and SH as well as standards of conduct at HQ, as well as country and regional office locations.
Coordinate UN Women’s network of in-country PSEA and SH Focal points
- Coordinate and monitor UN Women in-country PSEA and SH focal points network;
- Develop content and conduct UN Women in-country PSEA and SH focal points capacity-building workshops;
- Provide high-quality support to in-country PSEA and SH focal points to implement their terms of reference;
- Manage a community of practice and provide regular updates to promote knowledge and experience/best practices exchange among UN Women in-country PSEA and SH focal points.
Provide awareness-raising and training support
- Contribute to the organization’s outreach and awareness raising efforts on personnel rights, responsibilities, obligations, and protection in relation to SEA and SH;
- Develop, update and conduct trainings on the prevention of and response to SEA and SH as well as standards of conduct at HQ and field locations;
- Facilitate information sharing and disseminate communication material among country and regional offices as well as other UN agencies on the prevention of and response to SEA and SH.
Provide reporting and knowledge management support:
- Prepare accurate and quality analysis, statistics and progress reports in relation to SEA and SH;
- Draft briefing notes, talking points and presentations for different stakeholders including member states and oversight bodies;
- Assist in the review and analysis of issues and trends, preparation of evaluations or other research activities. As needed, undertake survey initiatives; design data collection too
