Woodard & Curran is growing, and we are looking for qualified Industrial Maintenance Technicians near Crossville, Tennessee! The Industrial Maintenance Technician regularly participates in the daily operations and maintenance of the Wastewater Treatment facilities as directed by the Project Manager. The Technician is responsible for repairing and maintaining machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, pumps, and production machines and equipment, in the safest manner possible.  Specific duties include troubleshooting mechanical devices by listening to their sounds or monitoring equipment temperature to diagnose causes of trouble.  Must be able to dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; to examine the form and texture of parts to detect imperfections; utilize proper tools to repair equipment. What would you be doing at Woodard & Curran?

  • Responsibilities include:
  • Monitor wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment both manually and via SCADA automation, making adjustments as necessary to control their operation.
  • Perform water quality sampling, testing, and analysis to determine compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Operate, maintain, control, and perform routine repair of plant equipment, including preventive maintenance duties.
  • Utilize software programs for maintenance work orders and maintains all necessary records.
  • Perform general maintenance duties of plant and other assigned duties.

  • Schedule: Tuesday to Monday 7:00pm – 5:00am working a week on and a week off. Participates in an on-call rotation on weekends, holidays and outside normal workday hours. Will be required to respond to emergency or unpredicted situations.

What would you need to succeed?

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two (2) years of professional experience, including one (1) year in the maintenance of water or wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Must demonstrate a basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, construction, excavating, and hydraulics.
  • Working knowledge of the principles, procedures, methods, equipment, materials, and tools employed in the operation' and maintenance of Wastewater Treatment and Collection Systems.
  • Basic computer skills are desirable, including knowledge of maintenance software.
  • Ability to work inside and outside in adverse weather conditions.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate well with clients, management, staff, and the general public.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • A valid State of TN motor vehicle operator's license.
  • Thorough knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions involved in wastewater treatment work.
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a background check, pre-placement physical and drug screen before employment.
