The Raytheon team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer within the XBR Agile Release Train (ART). As a member of this team, you will be supporting radar software development, test, FQT, including Signal Processor development in Woburn MA at the Missile Defense Center (MDC) within the Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) Software (SW) Department. 

The MDS SW mission is to provide world class Radar and Command and Control (C2) Software for our customers’ wide array of Surveillance and Warning Systems. We align to the core Agile and DevSecOps principles of collaborative operation across the entire value stream, delivering high-frequency, high-quality deployments to our customers.  We strive for technical excellence by drawing upon a workforce whose knowledge base covers the complete spectrum of modern computing languages and platforms.

What You Will Do:

  • Design, develop, and test Radar and Signal Processor software based on software trouble reports in an agile, collaborative environment.

  • Participate in agile execution and continuous improvement.

  • Work collaboratively with systems and System Integration & Test (SI&T) engineers to analyze, decompose, implement, and test system requirement modifications to the existing Radar and Signal Processing baseline.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Bachelors in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of prior relevant experience.

  • Experience in software development, test, and/or integration using Ada, Java, C, C++.

  • Strong skills using debugging tools to quickly identify and fix software bugs, as well as optimize code for performance.

  • Experience developing software with agile methodology in a team-based environment.

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Master’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM).

  • Experience in software development in radar and signal processor concepts.

  • Proven experience with current Missile defense programs with specific experience in large, complex radar and signal processing systems.

  • Experience breaking down complex software capabilities and features into manageable pieces that can be achieved in a sprint.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time-critical requirements.

  • Experience contributing to a team environment for the purpose of developing creative solutions to complex technical problems.

  • Ability to prioritize and make data-driven decisions
