Job Description
As the Manager, Facilities, you'll lead the day-to-day operations of WGU's corporate facilities, ensuring our workplaces are safe, efficient, and well maintained. You'll lead the facilities team, oversee vendor partnerships, and help deliver a workplace experience that supports employees across multiple locations.This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, improving operations, building strong partnerships, and finding better ways to support the business.
What You'll Do
- Lead the day-to-day operations of WGU's corporate facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and welcoming workplaces across multiple locations.
- Build, coach, and develop a high-performing facilities team by setting clear expectations, fostering accountability, and promoting a service-focused culture.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for facilities operations, partnering with internal stakeholders, property management, and external service providers.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and service level agreements (SLAs) to ensure quality service and strong performance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) that support consistent and efficient facilities operations.
- Manage office moves, space planning, workplace modifications, maintenance projects, and day-to-day campus operations aligned with business needs.
- Support construction, renovation, and workplace improvement projects in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
- Monitor facilities budgets, identify opportunities for cost savings, and ensure responsible stewardship of department resources.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, building codes, life safety standards, and organizational policies.
- Develop operational metrics and reporting to measure service delivery, identify opportunities for improvement, and support informed decision-making.
- Partner with teams across the organization to support workplace safety, business continuity planning, and future facilities initiatives.
- Implement the tools, technologies, and strategies associated with Integrated Workplace Management Systems (IWMS) to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of WGU’s facilities operations and real estate portfolio. Using the data and information provided through an IWMS, run facilities operations and the real estate portfolio using monthly and quarterly data-driven trend reports based on goals, forecast, and actuals.
- Create and maintain a 3-year Facilities Operations and Real Estate Portfolio Management roadmap showing the systems and technology that is updated at least once a year during Operational Annual Planning to guide fiscal year budget and resource planning.
