The Student Financial Aid Specialist 2 provides counseling and administrative assistance in the Eligibility, Analysis and Operations area in Student Financial Aid (SFA) for undergraduates, graduate and professional students within the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management (OSEM).
Reviews and processes student financial information related to verification and awarding of financial aid in a timely and accurate manner ensuring full compliance with all applicable statutes, rules and regulations at the federal, state and institutional levels. Verifies eligibility of aid and awards and revises financial aid packages. Performs professional judgment and approves or denies appeals. Provides information and administrative support to staff in SFA, Colleges/Departments and at regional campuses. Assists with the development of policies and procedures. Maintains statistics. Researches and resolves problems. Serves on committees. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities
50% Provides counseling and administrative assistance in the Eligibility, Analysis and Operations area in Student Financial Aid (SFA) for undergraduates, graduate and professional students within the Office of Strategic Enrollment Management (OSEM). Counsels students, families, and other users regarding financial aid. Verifies eligibility of aid. Awards and revises financial aid packages. Processes, approves and denies appeals. Authorizes scholarships. Monitors student accounts. Assures compliances with federal and state regulations, in addition to university policies.
30% Evaluates, processes, and/or certifies consortium agreements, private and university loans. Provides information and administrative support to staff in SFA, Colleges/Departments, and at regional campuses. Serves as liaison for the university, external education communities, and the general public. Conducts orientations and presentations. Trains campus partners.
20% Assists with the development of policies and procedures. Maintains statistics. Researches and resolves problems. Serves on committees. Performs other duties and projects as assigned.
Education/Experience
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education/experience required; 2 years of relevant experience is required; Strong interpersonal skills; Ability to work both independently and, in a team-oriented environment; Possess strong attention to detail, analytical, and organizational skills; Ability to follow policies
