About the role

Overview

 

Up to $2,500 New Hire Sign-on Bonus

Rate of pay:  $ 23.00 - $25.00 per hour

 

Monitors and assists the child and family in programmatic interventions including but not limited to gaining access to needed medical, social, educational and other developmental/therapeutic services. Functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team serving infants and toddlers.

Responsibilities

 

  • Protects the rights and dignities of individuals with developmental disabilities and extend these rights and dignities to family members or guardians.
  • Upholds and complies with all safety programs and policies to maintain a safe work environment for employees, clients, family members and visitors.
  • Commits to organizational quality initiatives by participating in programs that will assure quality improvements and team processes.
  • Maintains and assists in procuring assessments and evaluations necessary for establishing need for services.
  • Participates in the treatment, planning process and monitoring progress in meeting the goals and objectives of the IFSP (Individualized Family Service Plan).
  • Locates, coordinates and monitors necessary medical, educational and developmental supports.
  • Documents all activities in accordance with requirements necessary for fulfilling, agency policies or Early Intervention regulations.
  • Obtains consultation from other members of the team in areas outside own expertise in order to fully address the needs of individual children on case-by-case basis.
  • Maintains professional knowledge through participation in professional organizations, conferences and in-services.
  • Provides direct and/or indirect Early Intervention services as qualified.
  • Provides formal teaching to parents and other members of the team in area of expertise.
  • Coordinates and chairs as appropriate team meetings including the IFSP and developmental supports.

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Child Development, Early Childhood Special Education, social work, psychology, communication disorders, nutrition, or a related Early Intervention field;
  • 2-5 years experience providing interventions to infants and toddlers (birth to age three) in a family-focused, home-based setting; experience in the trans-disciplinary provision of support.
  • A minimum of 12 hours per year of training with a focus on working with young children with disabilities and their families and completion of the Introduction to EI course within six months of date of employment is required.
  • Must have valid driver’s license, safe driving record, automobile insurance and own vehicle to be used as directed and when needed for transportation.
  • Must have and maintain pediatric CPR certification.
