What you get to do:

As a Supervisor, Entertainment, you’ll enthusiastically represent SeaWorld by displaying a positive attitude, maintaining a high level of energy and commitment to quality throughout all aspects of the job. Oversees Crew and Talent Operations including leadership, front line ambassadors, and the daily operations of audio, video, lighting, stagehands, costume characters, and performers for all park needs. Provides a high level of professional expertise in areas of operation for stagehands, audio, video, lighting, and/or Costume Characters and Performers. Supports the Production team with creation, installation and daily operations of shows and events.

  • Directs the daily operations of Crew and Talent Operations.
  • Supports Productions and Services to maintain show or event standards and equipment
  • Assesses the efficiencies of operations of shows and events and directs modifications as needed
  • Attends and directs the technical aspects of installs or rehearsals for shows and events
  • Supervises and participates in the position requisitions, interview process, hiring practice and orientation of ambassadors
  • Supervises and partakes in the training and development of new and existing ambassadors including formal and informal feedback as well as progressive discipline
  • Effectively coaches, mentors, directs and evaluates Asst. Supervisors and Operations ambassadors
  • Develop annual performance appraisals for Asst. Supervisors and Operations ambassadors
  • Delegates appropriately to promote an atmosphere of self-improvement and learning
  • Accountable for the financial aspects of Operations including labor, expense, budget forecasting, tracking, capital funds and purchasing
  • Responsible for staff scheduling, Kronos and Manual Attendance Logs
  • Ensures safe work practice and monitors compliance of safety related procedures
  • Supports the strategic planning as a fully engaged member of the team
  • Takes part in creative sessions as directed regarding operational aspects of shows or events
  • Establishes and maintains a positive atmosphere and proactive communication with leadership, ambassadors and vendors
  • Produces and maintains accurate documentation
  • Troubleshoots effectively to attain a positive outcome
  • Maintains, upholds and respects company, leadership and ambassador confidential matters
  • Develops and maintains positive working relationships with ambassadors, peers and managers within and across departments
  • Participates in company and department meetings
  • Maintains cleanliness of all assigned work areas
  • Ensures excellence in customer service by responding to guest requirements, expectations and needs
  • Maintains a positive and flexible attitude
  • Model company trainings related to guest interactions and animal areas
  • Assist other locations and areas throughout the park as needed
  • Other duties and assigned

What it takes to succeed:

  • At least two years of professional or college level experience in one of the following areas; film production, live audio or technical entertainment management, costume character or performer management.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in a leadership role
  • At least one year of theme park experience preferred

What else is important:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have and maintain a valid California driver’s license; visiting students and military must have a valid driver’s license from state of residency and able to provide a copy of the DMV report. Must be able to meet requirements to drive SeaWorld vehicles
  • Must have proficient knowledge in one or more areas of technical theater or live media productions (audio, video, lighting and stagehand)
  • Working knowledge of computer-based resources/programs such as Microsoft Office and other park related programs (i.e. SAP, Concur, Kronos, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to speak clearly and comfortably in front of large groups and in different environments including, but not limited to, training classes, leading meetings and directing technical rehearsals
  • Skilled in organization and planning
  • Ability to complete assigned projects in a timely and professional
