Together with a project team, the molding engineer specifies and implements molding systems for mass manufacturing and as technical specialist, the molding engineer is responsible for the process and takes care that molding systems are performing against product and production requirements.</p><p></p><p>You are part of the SME (Site Manufacturing Engineering) Molding team in Drachten. The molding team develops &amp; realizes world-class industrialization solutions with passion for Shavers, Toothbrushes and other Philips products.</p><p>SME plans and implements integral architecture for product, process and supply chain to improve cost agility, time to market, volume mix flexibility &amp; sustainability.</p><p><br/><b>Your role:</b></p><ul><li><p>Industrializing new plastic parts in the factory.</p></li><li><p>Actively studying trends and new technologies in field of molding (including sustainability).</p></li><li><p>Specifying and outsourcing molding process, tools and equipment.</p></li><li><p>Reviewing the activities of mold making suppliers.</p></li><li><p>Implementing molding processes in the factory and provide <span>aftercare.   </span></p></li><li><p>Defining financial impact and monitoring financials of molding processes,</p></li><li><p>Applying and improving standard molding procedures and supplier base management tools and methods.</p></li><li><p>Use of DFSS improvement tools and lean manufacturing principles.</p></li><li><p>Competence management: Improve and document knowledge in the field of Molding</p></li></ul><p><br/><b>You're the right fit if you have:</b></p><p>Technical:</p><ul><li><p>Knowledge of fundamentals plastic part making</p></li><li><p>Able to execute DFM analyses, make DFM reports and analyze DFM reports</p></li><li><p>Basic knowledge of resins.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge about measuring, able to read and understand drawings</p></li><li><p>Understanding of mold constructions,</p></li><li><p>Understanding of injection molding process, able to execute molding trials, trouble shooting and process investigations.</p></li><li><p>Able to operate molding machines</p></li><li><p>Able to make functional molding specifications</p></li><li><p>Able to estimate mold prices and cycle times of injection molding process</p></li><li><p>Able to manage ordering, realization and release of new molds</p></li><li><p>Minimal Six Sigma or DMAIC trained (Green Belt), preferably certified</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Generic:</p><ul><li><p>Good communication skills in Dutch and English</p></li><li><p>Ability to influence stakeholders and team up with others</p></li><li><p>Decisive, result driven and creative team player </p></li><li><p>Proactive approach, can-do mentality and hands on way of working.</p></li><li><p>Can work autonomously and in teams</p></li><li><p>Able to think in scenarios</p></li></ul><p></p><p>Education and experience:</p><ul><li><p>Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering</p></li><li><p>Minimal 5 years relevant working experience in plastic part making, preferably in a mass production environment for consumer products.</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b>How we work together</b><br/>We believe that we are better together than apart.
