You will manage the development and governance of our data platform, ensuring it is <strong>reliable, scalable, and optimized for advanced analytics</strong>.</p><p>In this role, you’ll lead a team of data engineers and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to design, build, and maintain a <strong>high-quality, cloud-native data ecosystem</strong>. Your work will be critical in enabling <strong>data-driven decision-making</strong> across the organization, powering everything from internal dashboards to real-time product features. </p><p>We’re looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strategic thinking and a passion for mentorship and architectural excellence.</p><p><strong>Challenges you’ll meet:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Team Leadership and Mentorship: </strong>Lead and mentor a team of skilled data engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.</p></li><li><p><strong>Data Platform Modernization: </strong>Redesign and modernize our existing data platform using the latest tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and scalability.</p></li><li><p><strong>Cross-Team Collaboration:</strong> Collaborate closely with data analysis and product development teams to ensure efficient, reliable, and scalable data pipelines that contribute to informed decision-making.</p></li><li><p><strong>Data Quality &amp; Governance:</strong> Establish and enforce data quality frameworks, governance policies, and monitoring tools to ensure high data accuracy, consistency, and reliability.</p></li><li><p><strong>Compliance &amp; Security:</strong> Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and security best practices, minimizing risks related to data access and management.</p></li><li><p><strong>Innovation and Testing:</strong> Test new approaches by creating Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and conducting benchmarks to continuously improve our data platform.</p></li><li><p><strong>ETL/ELT Excellence:</strong> Develop, optimize, and maintain ETL/ELT processes to ensure high-quality and consistent data, supporting the integrity of our analytics and insights.</p></li><li><p><strong>Best Practices and CI/CD Methods:</strong> Build robust pipelines for continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD), streamlining software delivery and enhancing efficiency in collaboration with development teams.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Your professional qualities:</strong></p><ul><li><p>7+ years of experience in data engineering or backend systems, with at least 2+ years in a technical leadership or architect role.</p></li><li><p>Proven experience designing and building distributed data systems on the cloud.</p></li><li><p>Expertise in data modeling, warehousing (dimensional, denormalized, time-series), and data governance.</p></li><li><p>Strong experience with streaming architectures (e.g., Kinesis, Kafka) and batch ETL.</p></li><li><p>Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines for data systems and infrastructure (preferably GitLab CI).</p></li><li><p>Excellent communication skills—able to influence stakeholders and guide technical decisions across departments.</p></li><li><p>Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA) and security standards.</p></li><li><p>A mentoring mindset—you’ve supported career growth of other engineers and improved team standards.</p></li><li><p>Experience balancing trade-offs between scalability, cost, speed, and maintainability.</p></li></ul><p><strong>Tech stack you’ll work with:</strong></p><ul><li><p><strong>Cloud: </strong>AWS (Redshift, Spectrum, S3, RDS, Lambda, Kinesis, SQS, Glue, MWAA)</p></li><li><p><strong>Languages:</strong> Python, SQL</p></li><li><p><strong>Orchestration:</strong> Airflow (MWAA)</p></li><li><p><strong>Modeling:</strong> dbt</p></li><li><p><strong>CI/CD: </strong>GitLab CI (including GitLab administration)</p></li><li><p><strong>Monitoring:</stron
