Overview:

Pembina U.S. Corporation is recruiting for an Operations Technician to join the team. This position is an Operation and Maintenance Technician for the Cochin Pipeline Jamestown South operational area. Located in the Wheaton, Minnesota office and reporting the Day Foreman for the area in the Transmission Pipelines Business Unit (TBU), part of Pembina’s Pipeline Division.


Pembina's Transmission Pipeline assets have developed through the strategic acquisition of key natural gas and specification ethane transportation infrastructure assets, positioned in some of the most prolific gas producing regions in western Canada and the United States. 


This position may consider applicants in the US that may need relocation support. 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:

    • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules”. To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety;
    • Ensure all maintenance and operations duties are completed safely, in compliance with Pembina’s procedures, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices;
    • Routine pipeline operations and maintenance tasks, including troubleshooting, repair of pump station electronics, electrical, and mechanical equipment;
    • Locating and marking Cochin facilities per Pembina’s Damage Prevention Program and One-Call procedures prior to and during excavation;
    • Provide oversight and inspection to ensure asset protection and compliance with company procedures of excavation activities near pipeline facilities;
    • Participate in a bi-weekly call out rotation responding to after hour call outs due to equipment and/or operational problems;
    • A willingness to work overtime on an as needed basis; and
    • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Qualifications:

    • 3 to 5+ years related work experience preferred;
    • Journeyman Electrical / Instrumentation or certification equivalent preferred;
    • PLC programming experience, together with a familiarity of a variety of instrumentation equipment preferred;
    • Hands-on experience with various computer applications;
    • Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills;
    • Ability to work well in a team coupled with a proven track record of success of positively interfacing with Field, Engineering, and Technical Support personnel;
    • Ability to perform and direct safe and efficient operations in a fast-paced environment;
    • Results oriented with a flexible & adaptable approach to change; and
    • Possess a valid driver’s license & willingness to obtain a DOT medical card.

 

This position requires Pre-Employment testing including Background check, Drug Screen and possibly a Fit for Duty Exam. Testing includes testing for marijuana metabolites.
