Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Corrections is seeking a Corrections Clerk I to work at the Dixon Correctional Center.  This position will perform a variety of specialized office clerical services. In addition they will maintain compliance of the work order system, monitor purchase requests, and coordinate/schedule training for the department. We encourage all qualified applicants to apply. 

Essential Functions

• Performs a variety of specialized office clerical services for the Stationary Engineer - Chief.
• Enters, monitors, and maintains compliance of the work order system for the Maintenance Department.
• Creates, inputs, submits, monitors, and files purchase requests for the Maintenance Department.
• Coordinates and schedules training for department.
• Prepares quarterly contract monitoring utility reports.
• Keyboards project scopes for project request approval.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications

• Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school.
• Requires six (6) months of clerical or office work.

Conditions of Employment

• Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
• Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
• Requires completion of an approved course in guard training within six (6) months of employment.
