MBRDNA is headquartered in Silicon Valley, California, with key areas of Autonomous Driving, Advanced Interaction Design, Digital User Experience, Machine Learning, Customer Research, and Open Innovation. In Farmington Hills, Michigan, the focus is on Powertrain and eDrive technology as well as in Long Beach, where the teams test durability of the latest driver assistant and telematic systems. The Digital Hub in Seattle focusses on developing a cloud architecture and building out the cloud platform for the next generation of connected car services. The Testing and Regulatory Affairs Division in Ann Arbor and the Advanced Vehicle Design in Carlsbad complete the competence center.
The Compensation Analyst as a member of the Operations Team within the MBRNDA People Team. This person performs a variety of technical and analytical compensation activities related to the company’s compensation programs and systems. This will include but is not limited to gathering of salary benchmark data, compensation data analysis, analysis of job levels and pay, administration of company job descriptions, management of annual salary increase programs and management of compensation-related compliance activities such as pay equity analysis and re-classification analyses. This position will work to ensure Mercedes Benz Research & Development compensation and organizational programs remain competitive and fair.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide analytical support in the development, administration, and implementation of Mercedes Benz Research & Development compensation and organizational programs.
  • Determine and make compensation recommendations to management and HR staff pertaining to hiring, promotions and other wage adjustments.
  • Interpret policies and provide advice to HRBPs and Managers on issues related to compensation.
  • Assist in managing Long Term Incentive (LTI) and Short-Term Incentive (STI) programs.
  • Review job descriptions and suggest updates or changes as needed.
  • Participate in the analysis, data submission, recommendation, and packaging of industry-wide salary surveys.
  • Assist in compensation refresh analysis as needed in line with market data changes.
  • Provide analytical support and data analysis on projects and human resource metrics.
  • Ensure adherence to MBRDNA policies, processes and compliance with Mercedes Benz policies and guidelines.
  • Manage salary structure creation and maintenance.
  • Other duties and projects as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum years of experience recommended: 3-5 years.   
  • Ability to handle highly sensitive information in a confidential manner.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Analyze and interpret policies, practices and procedures
  • Conducting research, analyzing information, data and presenting findings in a concise format.
  • Negotiation and problem solving.
  • Addressing difficult situations in a constructive manner.
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of fundamental compensation concepts and HR practices.
  • Will accept equivalent work experience in lieu of formal education: Yes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level skill in Excel - pivot tables, v/h lookups.
  • Creating Reports and Data Reporting (Pay Trends).
  • Familiarity with HRIS Systems (Experience with PeopleSoft preferred).
  • Prior Human Resources compensation experience.
The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on a wide range of factors, including, but not limited to, job-related education, skills, and experience, geographic location, and market conditions. The current salary range for this position is as follows and may be modified in the future: $42/hr - $50/hr.
