Job Description

The Academic Coordinator is a full-time faculty member who reports to an Associate Dean I and works closely with the relevant School and College academic advising and administrative staffs, and faculty to address a variety of academic and student issues.

Responsibilities

  • Course instruction, course content development, and other curricular activities as needed.
  • Managing administrative functions appropriate to assignments.
  • Mentoring of students in coursework and Capstone project.
  • Supervision and scheduling of faculty. 
  • Recruit, hire, mentor, and evaluate faculty teaching in the BSN program.
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, inclusivity, and academic excellence among faculty and staff.
  • Coordinate program evaluation and assessment activities to maintain academic quality.
  • Engagement in scholarship Service on university and school committees and for school initiatives as needed.
  • When teaching courses and serving on committees, coordinators are expected to be available to students outside the course discussion board and in addition to providing substantive feedback on assignments and postings. 
  • The university requires regular and predictable availability, such as online office hours or regular online chats. Publish availability to students through course syllabi, instructor information in the classroom, and other appropriate documents. 
  • Address student concerns and ensure effective resolution processes. 
  • Facilitate school and university-wide discussions. 
  • Lead curriculum design, review, and updates to ensure alignment with nursing standards and healthcare workforce needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

  • PhD, DNP or other terminal degree in nursing. A significant record of intellectual and professional contributions to the field, including professional publications and conference presentations. Required
  • Three (3) to five (5) years teaching experience as appropriate to the program. 
  • Licensed RN required. Compact nursing license and live in the same state as the Compact license preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, team participation, and human relation skills.
  • Experience with distance learning preferred.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Office Suite products and Canvas platform.
