As the engineering leader of Axion, you will lead the engineering team through major technical milestones, including building a best-in-class, scalable, enterprise platform that can support our growing customer base. 
Some highlights that make this role uniquely exciting include: - Save lives by helping the world become a safer place from airplane crashes, electric vehicle failures, and medical device malfunctions- Leverage and experiment with the latest AI/Generative AI/LLM technologies- Support visionary engineering leaders at the world’s leading enterprises- Be a part of a highly talented and dedicated team - Lead and build a team primarily based in NYC, with global colleagues

Responsibilities:

• Build a world-class engineering organization by attracting and hiring top technical talent 
• Lead the team in the building of a scalable platform 
• Drive the rapid development of our roadmap 
• Ensure the team develops an architecture that can scale effectively 
• Grow the engineering team while maintaining outstanding technical acumen and teamwork
• Manage the balance between product delivery, technical debt, quick iterations, and scale

Scale & Process:

• Experience attracting top talent and building teams at an early-stage company (e.g. series A -B) 
• Experience building and shipping complex enterprise SaaS platform solutions, preferably with data transformations/analytics products 
• Experience developing and implementing systems and processes for a growing engineering team while remaining efficient and productive 
• Experience creating, maintaining, and communicating engineering roadmaps

Leadership & Culture:

• You have experience in hiring, building, and leading high-performing and distributed engineering teams including ramping up new teams and managing remote employees 
• Proven success working in rapidly growing environments; i.e. a high-growth, scaling startup (A-B) 
• Have hired and managed senior-level engineers with experience architecting and developing complex products.
• You can go from managing front-line employees and detailed plans to articulating and deploying strategies to enable the organization to execute today and build for the future.
• You command respect from the team through technical acumen and vision
• Proven experience growing and developing engineering talent 
• Can create rapport within and across teams to build and grow an engineering culture
