The Regional Operations Manager provides leadership and day-to-day oversight for clinical laboratory and patient service center operations across a designated region. This role plays a key part in ensuring high-quality service, regulatory compliance, and efficient operations, while supporting Interpath’s mission and collaborative culture.

The Regional Operations Manager uses data and performance metrics to guide decisions, prioritize effectively, and identify opportunities to improve processes, control costs, and support team success.

This role also helps maintain safe, professional, and well-functioning work environments and works closely with cross-functional departments to support continuous improvement and regional growth.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Laboratory Sciences, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in healthcare or lab operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership/supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead distributed teams and manage multi-site operations.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA compliance, clinical lab workflows, and quality control best practices.
  • Strong leadership, verbal and written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to drive results through people, process, and performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide regional leadership and oversight for patient service centers, specimen collection and transport, and laboratory processing operations.
  • Ensure consistent standards of quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and customer service across all assigned sites.
  • Lead, coach, and support managers, supervisors, and operational staff; foster an engaged, accountable, and collaborative work environment.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess performance, safety, workflow efficiency, and service quality; implement improvements as needed.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics, productivity, and staffing models to drive efficiency and cost-effective operations.
  • Lead troubleshooting and escalation of operational disruptions, including equipment downtime, staffing challenges, and safety concerns.
  • Support new client implementations, service expansions, and regional growth initiatives.
  • Oversee regional staffing activities, including hiring, onboarding, performance management, and retention.
  • Ensure consistent application of corporate policies, SOPs, and Interpath Quality (IQ) standards.
  • Manage regional resources, including inventory, courier operations, and supply utilization.
  • Participate in budget planning and cost-control efforts, including labor management and overtime utilization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and represent operations in meetings, projects, and other initiatives as needed.

This role performs additional duties as required to support regional operations and organizational objectives.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in a combination of office, clinical, and patient service environments.
  • Frequent travel between sites within the assigned region is required and may occur during inclement weather conditions.
  • Involves long periods of computer work, standing, and walking.
  • Occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds independently and moving items weighing up to 100 pounds using appropriate equipment, such as carts or dollies, in accordance with safety guidelines.

OSHA Category: This role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and/or tissues, with Hepatitis-B vaccination offered to all performing these duties.
