Job description:

• Perform detailed receiving, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts, composite parts, and mechanical assemblies 
• Review and verify supplier data packs including Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), mechanical inspection reports, mechanical test data, and special process certifications (e.g. heat treat, plating).  
• Identify and document nonconformances, segregate suspect material, and initiate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).  
• Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of materials according to AS9100 and customer requirements.  
• Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve discrepancies prior to qualification and customer submission.  
• Support internal and external audits.  
• Work in manufacturing computer system to record inspections, move parts through inspection queues, and generate nonconformance report requests.  
• Implement and maintain a calibrated tool system and process. 

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in a regulated industry (aerospace, robotics, medical device, automotive, or equivalent) 
• Prior experience with aerospace inspection processes and standards 
• ASME Y-14.5 experience/ GD&T required
• CMM experience preferred
• Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) 
• ASQ certifications are a plus 
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items over 40 lbs
• To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable.
