Job description:
- Perform detailed receiving, in-process, and final inspections on machined parts, composite parts, and mechanical assemblies
- Review and verify supplier data packs including Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), mechanical inspection reports, mechanical test data, and special process certifications (e.g. heat treat, plating).
- Identify and document nonconformances, segregate suspect material, and initiate supplier corrective action requests (SCARs).
- Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure traceability of materials according to AS9100 and customer requirements.
- Work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to resolve discrepancies prior to qualification and customer submission.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Work in manufacturing computer system to record inspections, move parts through inspection queues, and generate nonconformance report requests.
- Implement and maintain a calibrated tool system and process.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in a regulated industry (aerospace, robotics, medical device, automotive, or equivalent)
- Prior experience with aerospace inspection processes and standards
- ASME Y-14.5 experience/ GD&T required
- CMM experience preferred
- Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems)
- ASQ certifications are a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift items over 40 lbs
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable.
