About the role

Moriroku Technology North America in Marysville, OH is seeking a 1st shift Quality Assurance Technician for testing and validation. The Quality Assurance Technician – Testing & Validation is responsible for executing product testing activities to ensure that new parts and assemblies meet customer specifications, internal quality standards, and applicable regulatory requirements prior to mass production. This role plays a critical part in validating product performance, identifying defects early in the development cycle, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Working closely with Quality Assurance leadership and cross-functional teams, the technician ensures that products are reliable, compliant, and capable of sustaining performance throughout the life cycle of the vehicle.

The position offers hands-on training in automotive testing and validation methods, exposure to advanced laboratory equipment, and opportunities for technical and career growth within MTNA’s Quality Assurance organization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Product Testing & Validation

  • Perform functional and appearance testing on components and assemblies in accordance with customer specifications, engineering standards, and test procedures
  • Monitor testing processes to ensure accuracy, repeatability, and compliance with defined requirements
  • Set up test equipment, fixtures, and instrumentation required for various validation activities
  • Record, document, and verify test data to ensure completeness and traceability
  • Identify and escalate any non-conformances or irregularities observed during testing

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Compile, analyze, and summarize test results in collaboration with Quality Assurance leadership
  • Prepare clear, detailed test reports, including findings, trends, and recommendations
  • Create presentations and summaries to communicate project status and validation outcomes to internal stakeholders
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date testing schedules and documentation

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with design, R&D, and tooling teams to address test failures and implement corrective actions
  • Support verification of design or process changes to ensure issues are resolved effectively
  • Communicate testing progress, concerns, and improvement opportunities to relevant departments
  • Participate in team discussions and problem-solving activities to improve product quality and performance

Equipment Maintenance & Calibration Support

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on testing equipment to ensure reliability and accuracy
  • Assist with calibration activities and maintain calibration records in accordance with quality standards
  • Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and coordinate repairs or servicing as needed
  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and upkeep of testing tools and instruments

Work Planning & Continuous Improvement

  • Independently plan and manage daily and weekly testing activities to meet project timelines
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing processes, efficiency, and data accuracy
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Quality Assurance function
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe testing environment in accordance with company standards

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Technical certificate, vocational training, or Associate’s degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology, or a related field is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical discipline is a plus

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
  • Experience in manufacturing quality, laboratory testing, engineering support, quality assurance, military technical fields, or related technical environments preferred
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data entry, analysis, and reporting
  • Ability to read and interpret customer drawings, specifications, and work instructions
  • Familiarity with measuring tools and gauges (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges)
  • Basic understanding of mechanical concepts and product functionality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
