Senior Director, Global Health Economics & Reimbursement

Position Summary: The Senior Director, Global Health Economics & Reimbursement is responsible for leading strategy and execution to enable patient access to care for emerging technologies in Edwards Lifesciences Advanced Technology. This individual, with substantial experience in developing reimbursement from clinical trials through commercialization in the U.S. and other leading markets around the world, will partner with internal and external stakeholders to creatively enable patient access to care, evaluate technologies and drive solutions aligned with Advanced Technology direction. They are responsible for developing and leading the implementation of health economics and reimbursement strategies.
How you will make an impact:
Develop, synthesize, and present health economic evidence to key stakeholders while ensuring value messages are consistently developed and delivered, and customer feedback on value proposition is communicated to internal leadership
Establish effective working relationships with key stakeholders at hospitals engaged in EW procedures, (e.g., OR and cath lab staff, billing, administration and physicians (interventionists and surgeons)
Establish detailed understanding and ability to navigate regional and national payers (e.g. Medicare contractors and private insurers) coverage and payment processes, including ongoing monitoring of policy issues and payer outreach strategies designed to secure favorable coverage policies.
Set BU economic strategy through close collaboration with market access and BU leadership
Develop tools to deliver economic value message and provide guidance to stakeholders (e.g., physicians, hospitals) in achieving optimal economic outcomes.
Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Public Affairs, BU) to develop advocacy relationships with regional KOLs and societies, trade party associations, health technology assessment organizations, and other key third parties to influence outcomes of critical policy issues.
Serve in an advisory role to management to provide direction and guidance to project teams to execute enterprise-level projects, initiatives and/or programs
Identify and evaluate enterprise-level process improvement opportunities including evaluations of new systems and/or procedures

What you will need (required):
Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in a life science, health economics, health policy, or related field
Minimum 14 years of previous related experience or Master's Degree or equivalent in MBA or MPH, and minimum 12 years of previous related experience
Experience working with customers (primarily hospitals and physicians), trade associations, professional and medical organizations and ability to develop mutually beneficial health economics and reimbursement strategies and tactics to support portfolio planning, commercialization, and sales/marketing objectives.
Experience reimbursement planning and execution in the U.S.

Expert understanding of key public and private payer policy infrastructure, medical device payment methodologies, coding and coverage basics, and/or health policy trends.
