Division of Accounting and Finance:
The Division of Accounting and Finance is instrumental in determining the rates charged by Florida’s investor-owned electric, natural gas, and water and wastewater utility companies. Processing utility company rate changes includes analyzing filings and expert testimony, presenting staff expert-witness testimony, developing interrogatories and cross-examination questions, holding customer meetings, and presenting recommendations to the Commission including recommendations regarding the profit that utility companies should be allowed to earn.
Description of Job Duties:
The Chief of the Bureau of Finance, Tax and Cost Recovery has the following responsibilities:
The general responsibilities of this position require supervision of technical staff who are involved in the finance, tax and cost recovery aspects of rate cases; staff assisted rate cases; overearnings investigations; rule making and research involving regulated industries. This position and the bureau supervisors are responsible for processing certain aspects of rate cases of electric, gas, water and wastewater utilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major course of study preferably in accounting, finance, mathematics, economics, statistics, public administration and business administration with an emphasis in economics, finance or accounting.
Previous supervisory experience is required.
