VP & Chief of Staff

Location: This is a 100% remote position and we are considering candidates from any major city in the USA

The VP & Chief of Staff will act as a strategic partner and advisor to the CISO/CAO, ensuring smooth operations, effective communication, and efficient decision-making within the OCISO department. This is a key leadership role requiring exceptional organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills, as well as a deep understanding of technology and business processes.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic advisor to the CISO/CAO and members of their leadership team.
  • Establish, manage and lead program plans focused on maturing cross-team operations in support of team objectives.
  • Represent the CISO/CAO in meetings and by email with internal and external stakeholders with a focus on operational maturity and program execution.
  • Create and distribute executive level communications, presentations, reports, and other correspondence on behalf of the CISO/CAO based on their strategic and tactical priorities.
  • Support the CISO/CAO in meetings by capturing, assigning, leading and/or tracking the completion of corresponding action items.
  • Act as the liaison between CISO/CAO and other executives and stakeholders to ensure consistent communication and ensuring involvement or decision-making at the appropriate time.
  • Support and partner with the CISO/CAO and the OCISO leadership team on strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making.
  • Work with each OCISO leader to facilitate timely and effective completion of projects and initiatives of the Office of the CISO/CAO.  Monitor progress, identify and work with each leaders on addressing potential risks and issues, and ensure alignment with relevant deadlines.
  • Partner with OCISO leaders on researching and implementing alternate tactics and strategies when Office of the CISO priorities are at risk or team-specific or cross-team operations are proving to be inefficient.
  • Create and maintain tooling and processes to enable effective project management and operational visibility across all OCISO teams.
  • Establish, maintain, and report on team-specific KPIs spanning security and compliance operations and projects.  Present regular updates and reports to OCISO leadership and the CISO/CAO.
  • Support each Office of the CISO leader in managing and addressing cross-team challenges.
  • Support OCISO leaders with project coordination and business administration including but not limited to managing budgets and expense alignments with Finance.
  • Identify and lead the remediation of alignment issues internal to the team or the larger organization in cases where they are or have the likely potential to seriously disrupt planned objectives.
  • Provide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to OCISO staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Partner with HR to facilitate talent management across the OCISO organization. Collaborate on recruitment, onboarding, talent development, performance management, and succession planning initiatives.
  • Support the CTO in fostering a positive and inclusive work environment that attracts, retains, and develops top talent.
