About the Role
Sellers Dorsey is seeking an Assistant Director, Consulting responsible for client engagements focused on Medicaid financing within the Northeast Practice. The Assistant Director provides direct client consulting and leadership services and is responsible for client relationships at a senior level. This role supports the Managing Director and Senior Director in providing healthcare consulting services and leveraging policy and/or industry expertise in Medicaid policy and finance, as well as managed care within Ohio. The role is responsible for policy guidance, project management, client deliverables and satisfaction, and identification of new and expanded business activities. The Associate Director may manage direct reports and advise the Managing Director and Senior Director in areas such as staff training/development and utilization, as well as portions of the Practice’s daily operations. This is a full-time remote position based in the US Northeast region.
Key Responsibilities
- Active engagement as a thought leader through activities that contribute to Sellers Dorsey culture and success.
- Perform assigned and agreed upon project tasks maintaining client satisfaction through proactive project management; takes ownership of work and produces “client-ready” deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Manage an Asana portfolio of client engagements contained with the Northeast consulting portfolio, assuring all contractual targets and deliverables are met; manage multiple engagements simultaneously; work closely with the Senior Director and project team; communicate project progress to internal stakeholders.
- Develop strategic approach for practice and projects to manage project plan; drive timelines; anticipate, escalate and propose strategies to address complex challenges and mitigate risk.
- Actively contribute to cross-functional internal corporate teams engaged in driving corporate strategy development, practice-specific goals, process improvement and employee engagement. Contribute to development of growth strategies.
- Contribute to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for colleagues to learn, grow and develop meaningful relationships at the firm; meet with colleagues to share insights and facilitate knowledge transfer.
- Deliver subject matter expertise, consulting and strategic services on multiple projects, clients and engagements; manage assigned primary research and/or solution development; assist with proposal development, project plan development, data analysis, presentation development, and delivery of client presentations.
- In the absence of, or as assigned by a Senior Director, may serve as a key client contact to respond to questions, provide required communications and be responsible for a successful client engagement.
- Use personal industry knowledge, connections, business expertise, public policy awareness and political insight to identify leads that could result in profitable revenue growth for the Firm.
- Actively provide proposal development assistance including proposal drafting, editing, scope development, and related duties as necessary.
- Actively seek to identify new business opportunities for the Firm within assigned clients to help maximize long term benefits and relationship between the client and Sellers Dorsey.
- Leverage policy and/or healthcare solution expertise to help the Managing Director develop, document and communicate new solutions.
- Actively collaborate with other Sellers Dorsey practice areas and business units to pursue and deliver on new engagements.
