Arts and Sciences | Microbiology AdministrationWithin Dr. Rajaram’s lab, the Research Associate position will perform specialized research using molecular, genetic, biochemical, and computational methods to study the biology of organelles in the malaria parasite. This candidate in this position will assist PI in development of specialized research techniques to be used in the lab by all members. They will assist and oversee the development and implementation of research projects as related to the malarial parasite Plasmodium falciparum that will lead to necessary research outcomes for the Rajaram lab to aid in data collection. They will assist with data organization preparation for publication and assist with research publication creation and submission. Additional tasks will include keeping inventory of reagents, cell lines, plasmids, and bacterial strains. Participating with other group members to maintain consumables and clean glassware in the laboratory. They will be involved with shipping and receiving reagents, learning and staying up to date on relevant literature. They will assist with mentorship of graduate and undergraduate students.
Required: Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline. One year of relevant experience.
Desired: Master's degree in Biological Sciences or related discipline. Experience in tissue culture, molecular cloning and/or biochemical methods preferred.

The pay range for this job profile is $43,900 - 57,750. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
