Our team's mission is to make Generative AI easy to adopt for customers and universal. We continuously work on adding new services to our portfolio, which address real world problems through research and innovation. We build state-of-the-art services using the latest deep learning techniques and highly scalable distributed systems engineering.

We are seeking an L8 Director PMT to manage the strategic direction, product development, and business aspects for a portfolio of Generative AI products and services. This individual must be a highly technical product leader that indexes high on Amazon’s Leadership Principles of Think Big, Earn Trust, Customer Obsession, and Are Right A Lot. This leader should have a strong point of view on the AI and ML landscape, with the ability to articulate both the current landscape and to see around corners for future opportunities such as the potential of new services, M&A targets, and similar, etc. The ideal candidate will have a track record of launching new products and services in an ambiguous environment, and success scaling those services.

• Lead board- and executive-level stakeholder management, ensuring the coordination and clear communication of a multi-product roadmap
• Work across the full organization to ensure successful definition and delivery of new products and services
o Work with engineering and design teams to define fast-paced, but realistic schedules
o Create the pricing, product positioning, and go-to-market plans
o Enable the sales team with product training and collateral
o Create and drive a community engagement plan
• Identify new product opportunities; write, surface, and gain buy-in on their business proposals

Basic Qualifications


• Bachelor’s degree in related technical discipline
• 10+ years of Product Management, Software Development, Technical Advisor (Technical Chief of Staff) or similar experience
• Executive-level product ownership including customer segmentation, product definition, pricing, multiple release cycles, competitive analysis, and adoption success
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with board-level stakeholders, and both tech and non-tech customers; must have proven ability to describe complex concepts and roadmaps in a simple, compelling way
• Demonstrated experience in building, delivering, and operating products and services
• Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve challenging tech-strategy problems in new and highly ambiguous areas, showing a track record of making successful, bar-raising business decisions using relevant data and insights
• Experience with agile software development methodologies; prioritizing and delivering results in fast-moving environments
• Experience with UX Research, Design and product-led growth methodologies
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
• Meets/exceeds Amazon’s leadership principles requirements for this role

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or master’s degree in related discipline
• Experience building tier-1 ML/AI services
• Experience managing or working cross-organizationally, e.g., with machine learning scientists or applied data scientists, with product marketing, and with specialized and frontline sales teams
• Experience owning business P&L’s; strong finance related skills relating to P&L management and pricing
• Experience building businesses from scratch
• Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
• Track record of shipping high-performance software to a wide range of customers at high velocity
• Experience with completion of full product lifecycle (concept through GTM, including pricing and packaging, direct sales, and partner ecosystems)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $239,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $350,000/year in
