Job Summary/Description:
KKCO/KJCT is looking for our next Chief Engineer. This person oversees the day-to-day operations of the Engineering, IT, and Operations departments of the broadcast TV station. The candidate is responsible for the maintenance of all broadcast technology, equipment, and workflow at the station. Candidate must maintain a live news production environment and processes. Candidate must manage and administer all aspects of the broadcast and facility infrastructure.

Duties/Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Manage and schedule technical and operational staff
- Monitor multiple air channels and transmitters, maintaining regulatory compliance, and assuring quality control of on-air product
- Oversee IT systems and infrastructure
- Maintain transmitters, satellite antenna systems, automation, signal distribution, and routing systems
- Ensure the station is compliant with FCC requirements and licensing, and OSHA guidelines
- Prepare and manage the department's budget, including capital expenditures, operating expenses, and resource allocation
- Oversee all building maintenance and upkeep items, working in consultation with the other departments
- Responsible for maintaining equipment for all aspects of on-air product - TV air chain, video editing systems, IT networks, graphic systems, field news gathering equipment, and weather systems
- Maintain knowledge of the latest broadcast and mainstream IT technologies, and ways of implementing the technology within the facility.
- Manage all station and broadcast-related technical installations and upgrades.
- Assist TMP staff as needed in areas of master control operation and news production.
- Answer viewer questions and give guidance on how best to receive our OTA channels.
