Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation, reviewing, and analysis of the financial statements in a timely and accurate fashion on a monthly and annual basis in a fast paced environment with strict deadlines.
- Knowledge of financial statement preparation including profit & loss statement, balance sheet and statement of cash flows according to GAAP.
- Maintain prepaid expenses schedule and amortize expenses accurately over the relevant periods.
- Calculate and record monthly accruals for various expenses, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Participate in the annual audit, annual tax filings, and annual personal property tax filing processes.
- Participate in monthly flux analysis.
- Creating reports and updates based on data analysis in Microsoft Dynamics.
- Assisting with development, implementation, and review of fiscal policies and memos.
- Assist in special projects, including but not limited to IT initiatives and process improvements, to support the company’s growth.
- Interacts with management from within and outside of the accounting department to respond in an accurate and timely fashion to inquiries related to the group’s activities.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- 1-3 years or more of accounting knowledge or similar experience.
- Knowledge of GAAP is required, and IFRS is a plus.
- Above average system skills – preferred experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 365, Paylocity or ADP, advanced Excel, Procare AR, and billing systems.
- Ability to roll up sleeves and be proactive to obtain needed information.
- Strong verbal communication skills are required to communicate issues and give senior management concise, thoughtful updates.
- Good people, team building, and leadership skills.
- Intermediate technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills. How It Gets Done:
- Is able to work at least a full-time, 40-hour a week schedule, sometimes off-hours as the business requires (i.e., deadlines, networking events, conferences, business dinners, etc.).
- Is able to sit for long periods of time at a computer in a primarily sedentary position; manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
- Limited travel may be required (less than 10% of time), valid passport required.
