Job Title: Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), Retail at Sephora

Role Overview: As an HR Business Partner at Sephora, you will provide strategic and operational HR support to our Retail management and employees across one to two regions. Your role will involve delivering a range of HR programs aligned with our Retail business initiatives. You will provide insights and recommendations for effective coaching, retention, succession planning, and other employee-related activities. As a champion of Sephora’s principles-based culture and core values, you will drive HR functional excellence and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning & Alignment:

  • Champion HR/Talent initiatives and functional strategy.
  • Collaborate with HR Director, peer HRBPs, and business leaders to implement people priorities supporting organizational goals.
  • Use external and internal insights to address key people opportunities.
  • Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization.
  • Coach leaders on policy applications, employment laws, conflict resolution, and change management.
  • Assess and recommend improvements to HR processes.

Engagement & Retention:

  • Support the execution of culture/engagement surveys and action-planning.
  • Facilitate succession planning/talent reviews.
  • Conduct career conversations/stay interviews.
  • Coach leaders to support employee growth and development.
  • Identify trends and implement solutions related to engagement and retention.

Learning & Development:

  • Identify training needs for leadership development and build solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of Regional Directors, District Managers, and Store Managers in HR practices.

Performance Management:

 

  • Implement performance management tools and processes.
  • Discuss performance concerns/opportunities and identify root causes.
  • Manage the annual performance appraisal and salary planning process.
  • Investigate employee relations issues, including performance management, policy violations, harassment, etc.

Skills and Characteristics:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR Systems
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Highly collaborative with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguous people challenges.
  • Adaptable to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discreet handling of sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills.

Experience/Education Required:

  • 7+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years in an HRBP multi-unit role.
  • Prior employee relations experience.
  • Proficiency in LOA and ADAAA administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
