As an integral part of the Engine Controls & Accessories (EC&A) customer value stream within the Engine Control Systems (ECS) division, you'll play a pivotal role in serving our diverse range of engine and airframe customers. Your mission? To be the face of Collins Aerospace, fostering strong customer relationships and ensuring unparalleled business performance across multiple airframe customers.
As the AFC Program Manager, you'll hold the reins of the customer relationship and business performance, with full accountability for associated profit and loss (P&L) throughout the product lifecycle. Collaborating closely with all ECS product lines and plant sites, you'll drive customer satisfaction to new heights through flawless performance and unwavering dedication to excellence.
This is a hybrid role and can be located in Rockford, IL or Windsor Locks, CT.
What You Will Do
- Leads large military and commercial programs to ensure adherence to program plans, schedules, and budgets. Security clearance a plus, but not required.
- Establishes milestones, develops, and owns program plans, schedules, and budgets, and monitors allocation of resources.
- Leads a small direct program team and matrixed cross functional IPT to execute multiple programs.
- Reviews and presents plans and progress reports, monitors the presentation of value stream strategy, progress, and results.
- Develops new business growth strategies. Drives strategic planning efforts for a complex program.
- Leads continuous improvement including initiatives to optimize efficiency and quality.
- Identifies and reacts to program problems and recommends solutions, such as allocation of resources and changing contractual specifications, and assists in resolution development for escalated problems.
- Drives/leads responses to customer action items.
- Assists with leading the negotiation of contracts and contractual changes, including coordinating preparation of proposals, business plans, proposal work statements, operational budgets, specifications, and financial conditions of contracts to ensure legal compliance and to protect the organization’s interests.
- Interfaces with customers for project specifications to ensure successful completion.
- Establishes cost focused performance targets and directs work to achieve these targets.
- Effective at managing multiple tasks, resolving complex problems, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget to customer needs.
- Responsible for timely communication with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate to team members, executives and customers.

Qualifications You Must Have
- Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer
- Program management and customer facing experience.
- Leading negotiations.
- Experience leading development programs and new product introduction.
- Experience implementing strategies to achieve quality, delivery, reliability, and cost targets.
- Advanced degree in engineering or business.
