The Software Systems Engineer will provide system engineering, software engineering, testing engineering, and logistics support for Agile Core Services (ACS). These efforts include architecting, integrating, developing, and evaluating ACS Common Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES), and related security technologies, as well as Cloud computing Software supporting scalable data and analytic platforms/Hardware Infrastructure and Tactical Cyber Security capabilities with future Navy tactical infrastructure and mission applications. This position requires infrequent travel throughout the year, while the majority of time will be spent in a lab developing the software and testing - or performing these tasks remotely.
**This position is contingent upon award of contract**
Requirements
- Candidate must possess an active DoD Secret Clearance, or higher.
- The Software Systems Engineer will perform installs on Navy ships, and as a requirement must be ready at a moment's notice to travel.
- This will include ACS installs using a suite of applications; Mapping, Log Processing, Databases, and VM's for what the ship needs.
- Candidate must be able to perform work by memory while in a remote locations.
- The selected candidate must have strong experience in ACS/Canes, Ansible, Linux, OpenShift and Security+.
- Linux will be the primary operating system, with Security+.
- Candidate must have instrumentation and control system experience, to include designing, analyzing, testing and implementation.
- Familiarity with design and verification of automation, development of model-based system engineer and system simulations, Distribution Control Systems (DCS), Program Logistics Controllers (PLC), network communication conglomeration of ethernet switches, serial digital, and third-party data link protocols, Human Machine Interface including remote and local control panels, and general understanding of cybersecurity industrial standards as part of implementing control systems.
- The candidate must be fluid in abilities to perform troubleshooting and operations work.
- DevSecOps experience is preferred.
- Travel assignments will last approximately two weeks at a time.
Openings include: 1-2 Testers and 1 Developer.
We are targeting hires between June - August 2023.
Salary Range: $80,000 - $120,000 annually.
