Accounts Payable Specialist

Ready to shape the future of science and global health? ATCC, a pioneer in biomaterials manufacturing, is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist with a hybrid schedule (Tues &Thurs in Manassas, VA, 3 days remote).  

 

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for vendor management, invoice and payment processing, and payment monitoring. Duties include maintaining accurate records, managing vendor communications, and resolving invoicing issues to ensure timely payments and reduce delinquency.

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Processing: Perform general bookkeeping duties ensuring timely and accurate payment of accounts, including processing vendor invoices through the system of record and resolving discrepancies. 
• Payment Management: Manage vendor payments by accurately reviewing and processing invoices, preparing vendor payment journals for Check and ACH runs, and corresponding with vendors regarding outstanding payments or issues. 
• Record-Keeping and Support: Maintain accurate records and provide support during financial audits, including generating routine balance reports, verifying account discrepancies, and ensuring proper documentation per organizational policies. 

Qualifications

• High School diploma and 2-5 years of AP experience or equivalent experience. 
• AX and Concur experience preferred. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications, particularly Outlook and Excel, is required for this role.
