Client: Wood’s CRW Corp.

Position Title: General Manager

Location for the Position: Oxford, MA

Reports to: President

Manages: Crane Sales Manager, Rental Fleet Manager, and Massachusetts Branch team

About Us:

CRW Corp is a second-generation family-owned business that creates long-term partnerships with our customers while providing world-class equipment solutions based on their success. At CRW, we invest in the 4T’s: Talent, Tools, Training and Technology to be the best solutions provider in our industry. These four pillars provide the foundation for our future growth. If you want to make your mark with an award-winning and dynamic team where you can truly make a difference, join us at CRW.  We pride ourselves on providing careers, not just jobs.

Position Overview:

This is a unique opportunity where mentorship is available from the VP of the Crane Division, and there is a path to elevate this position to a VP role.  The current VP will be scaling back and retiring over the next few years.

The General Manager oversees the performance of the Massachusetts branch, which is housed in a new and clean facility and is staffed by a very experienced team.  This role will also drive the success of the crane and lifting divisions at all four CRW locations.  In addition, the position will develop and implement sales and rental strategies that achieve specific goals while working closely with the President, leadership, and teams.

The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a boots-on-the-ground role building relationships throughout CRW and with customers.  The ideal candidate believes in “we” instead of “I “and is totally invested in collaboration and teamwork to grow the business.  In addition, this role requires someone with a good level of analytical skills who can take the lead on a technical sales proposal.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Build and foster strong relationships with customers and go the extra mile to solve challenges, as they arise.
  • Drive the overall performance of the Crane and Lifting Division’s profitability (sales and rental).
  • Develop sales and rental strategies to achieve organizational sales goals and revenues.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Manager on rental fleet inventory, rates and maintenance costs.
  • Oversee day-to-day branch operations.
  • Develop technical sales proposals to show ROI for customers.
  • Assist the Crane Sales Manager with the activities and performance of the Crane Territory Managers.  This includes the management of new and used crane and lifting equipment and attachment inventory.
  • Assist the Territory Managers in the field with customer relationship building and product applications.
  • Provide feedback, support, and coaching to the entire Crane Division team.
  • Help prepare rental and sales budgets.
  • Develop promotional ideas and materials.
  • Attend trade show meetings and industry conferences such as SC&RA and AED.
  • Cultivate effective business relationships with current and potential customers.
  • Ensure a strong relationship with the represented manufacturers.
  • Assist the Crane Sales Manager in the valuation and prep-for-sale decision on fleet and used machines along with all potential trade-in inventory.  Develop a marketing plan for each unit.
  • Operate within all policies and procedures of the company as outlined in the employee handbook and safety manual.

Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in sales, preferably within the construction equipment industry.
  • Experience within the crane and lifting industry is highly desired.
  • Experience in managing and directing a sales organization.
  • Experience in all aspects of planning and implementing sales strategies.
  • Proven experience in customer relationship management
  • Ability to connect well with customers and teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic financial reporting principles
  • Proven problem solver who can adapt to a changing environment.

Benefits for You:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield Vermont Select CDHP Gold plan paid at 80% plus $1,425 Company funding towards HSA for single coverage (60% with $2,350 HSA contribution for a two-person or $2,850 family plan).
  • Fidelity Investments 401(k) with Company match of 3% of the first 6% contributed.
