The Commercial Underwriting Coordinator provides essential support to the underwriting team by
coordinating commercial underwriting processes through thorough research and data gathering. Ensuring efficient workflow management and maintain timely, clear communication with key stakeholders. Committed to facilitating smooth underwriting operations through meticulous record-keeping and contributing to high-quality underwriting solutions that align with client needs and business goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct thorough research and data analysis to support informed commercial underwriting recommendations.
- Assist the commercial underwriting workflow to ensure timely progression of applications, from initial submission through final approval, adhering to deadlines and quality standards.
- Review documents and data for accuracy and compliance with underwriting guidelines, highlighting any discrepancies or concerns for resolution.
- ·Address inquiries from clients and agents regarding the underwriting process, providing guidance or redirecting them to the appropriate team members for more detailed information.
- Generate and distribute regular reports on underwriting statuses, outstanding tasks, and relevant metrics, ensuring all parties stay informed on key timelines and requirements.
- Gain familiarity and knowledge of loan servicing operations, including collateral management, insurance requirements, and escrow responsibilities.
- Develop and maintain knowledge for Mortgage Protection Insurance for lender-placed and REO risks,
- tracking and reporting self-service clients through iPol and variant or modified exposure-only programs.
- Assess incoming inquiries and escalating advanced or urgent matters to the Supervisor, Management, and/or HFS IT Staff as necessary.
- Generate and distribute regular reports on underwriting statuses, outstanding tasks, and relevant metrics, ensuring all parties stay informed on key timelines and requirements.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
- Must be a self-starter with ability to prioritize and time-manage while working in a fast-paced
- environment.
- Creative and imaginative problem-solving abilities with a strong desire to create win-win situations.
- Strong drive to investigate, gather information, and apply analytical skills for informed decision-making.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience in commercial underwriting property insurance or related product or service, is a plus.
- Familiarity with financial services products, methods, and coverage is a plus.
- Skills assessment may be required prior to an interview.
