About the Opportunity

Length of Fellowship: 10 months

Are you ready to take on climate challenges and drive real sustainability solutions? As a Commercial Buildings Fellow in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll play a key role in advancing energy efficiency initiatives with Snohomish County Public Utility District (PUD). This full-time, 10-month hybrid fellowship begins on June 16, 2025 with a current hybrid expectation of approximately 1 onsite workday per week and 4 remote workdays, however, this may evolve based on organizational needs.

In this role, you’ll support Snohomish County PUD’s commercial customers with energy management, including organizational and technical projects, that contribute to statewide sustainability goals. In addition to hands-on experience, Fellows will receive training through the Building Operator Certification (BOC) program, gaining specialized training in building systems maintenance and energy efficiency. You’ll collaborate with the Energy Services department, gaining hands-on experience and making a tangible difference in the sustainability sector.

Projects you will be working on include:

• Assist customers in developing and implementing Operations and Maintenance (O&M) plans, and Energy Management plans (EMP) as required by the WA Clean Buildings Performance Standard, including items like developing an employee.
  engagement plan or building a site’s internal energy management program.
• Support customers with implementing Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs).
• Support the development of the Program Health Dashboard.
• Assist with building an Early Adopter Incentive Tracking system.
• Support maintenance of electronic project documentation and file structures on SharePoint and other repositories.

What You’ll Do

• Coordinate with assigned Commercial Strategic Energy Management (CSEM) program participants, program administrator, and program implementer to support program deliverables.
• Support internal and external meetings, in-person workshops, and virtual web conferences.
• Build out resources regarding compliance, incentives, timelines, mapping, and materials for building owners.
• Support building owners with general CBPS requirements and incentive applications.
• Develop knowledge of different Energy Efficiency Measures (EEMs).
• Attend project meetings, take meeting notes, and prepare meeting summaries.
• Maintain confidentiality of customers and other sensitive information.
• Follow District safety guidelines.
• Support the District's Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) efforts and continually learn and develop your own individual journey in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
