PURPOSE / DETAILS OF THE JOB

The HR business partner (HRBP) position is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in designated business units. The position serves as a consultant to management on human resource-related issues. The jobholder will execute HR tasks and actions covering the full spectrum of HR generalist responsibilities including resourcing, employee relations, rewards, talent management and development, employee engagement.  Their relevance is underpinned by the specialized knowledge and skills they can use to work on the processes, systems and people practices, as subject matter experts. 

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

Minimum: Human Resources Management Degree or other related degree.

Minimum: 3- 5 years HR generalist experience in a Manufacturing environment.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

1. Business Partnering

Build relationships and network with line managers through effective communication.

Provide comprehensive and holistic HR service to business, i.e., recruitment and selection, performance management, employee relations, etc.

Identify training needs in your business area and advise on best approach to bridge the gap.

Ensure compliance and consistency in application of company policies.

Advise line management on dispute management.

Liaise and partner with HR COEs to ensure an effective delivery of HR services to business.

2.Employee Relations

Ensure all employees are aware of company policies and, Disciplinary Code and Procedures.

Ensure that the Disciplinary Code and Procedure is aligned with current Labour legislative amendments.

Advise both staff and management of a fair and consistent application of disciplinary and grievance procedures.

Establish and maintain a good relationship between management, Union, and employees.

Represent the company at the CCMA.

Manage the incapacity processes in your business area.

3.Recruitment and Selection

Work in partnership with recruitment team to ensure that end-to-end recruitment and on-boarding processes are effectively executed.  

Maintain approve headcount base in your business area. 

Monitor that your business area meets the Employment Equity targets. 

Manage and support related processes e.g., the exit / termination processes. 

4.Talent Management  

Partner /Collaborate with Talent COE and the business to execute on all talent management processes end-to-end, i.e. Annual year-end processes, talent Development, talent Assessment, succession planning, and performance management. 

Support the development and execution of training and development initiatives across the business area/function. 

5.Reporting

Generate reports as requested by Line / HR Management, i.e., Headcount reports, Attendance reports, IR reports, Termination reports etc.

6.HR Projects

Occasionally drive business improvement projects as identified to improve business efficiency.
