Our Student Education Specialist will work with an existing team of 3 SitelogIQ employed energy specialists supporting the established energy management program for our client at Metro Nashville Public Schools (MNPS). This position will involve collaboration with MNPS STEM administrators and community partners to create cohesion of existing student education and engagement efforts and work to implement hands-on and experimental STEM learning objectives in the classroom. The ideal candidate will have prior teaching experience in STEM subject matter who will be a collaborative team player and is passionate about making energy efficiency and sustainability a fun learning opportunity for students.
This position is full time and located in Nashville, TN.
Student Education Specialist Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with existing MNPS team, MNPS STEM leaders, and community partners to develop STEM focused curriculum and project-based learning programs that are a natural fit and address the needs and vision of MNPS
- Develop student learning materials focused on energy efficiency and sustainability to creatively incorporate STEM based learning in the classroom
- Provide initial training and ongoing support to MNPS teachers on connections to the classroom
- Provide training and educational lessons to facilities management, custodial, office staff, teachers, and students as necessary
- Attend monthly STEM meetings with MNPS leaders and community partners to instill collaboration and stay abreast of curriculum and connection to classroom opportunities
- Support the existing MNPS Energy Program by performing routine on-site energy use and energy efficiency assessments at client facilities and report findings and suggestions to clients
Student Education Specialist Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in an Educational field
- 4+ years’ experience in a STEM oriented K-12 teaching position and knowledge and familiarity of TN core science standards
- Experience presenting to a variety of audiences in terms of age, background, and size of group
- Collaborative, team player who will facilitate conversations between various groups with common goals
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record and must pass live scan screening
