Job Description

The IU Foundation seeks a proactive and highly organized individual to serve as HR Business Partner for the Development organization, playing a key role in advancing the initiatives of the IU Foundation and Indiana University Advancement.  The HR Business Partner will report to the SVP, Human Resources and will work directly alongside the leadership team of the Development division at IUF, playing an integral role in the creation, coordination, and execution of a variety of employee lifecycle activities and tasks for both IU Foundation and the broader advancement community at IU.

The HR Business Partner will work with colleagues in Development and across the Foundation as an internal partner to help identify and support or execute on talent development, performance and goal management, organization design, succession planning, employee relations issues, and training needs. 

In addition, the HRBP will own planning and communicating about IU Foundation’s managerial tools and processes, will provide reporting and recommendations on key HR metrics, and will address employee relations issues and questions.  This position also is responsible for ensuring that org charts, job descriptions, and other employee-related documents for the Development function are up-to-date and will identify continuous improvement opportunities in HR & Culture.  Part of this persons’ time will be spent partnering with Learning & Development team members on key deliverables related to cyclical and ad-hoc trainings (e.g., planning, organizing training), specifically related to the Development Division learning roadmap.  Most importantly, this individual will be a trusted advisor to the leadership team of the Development Division.  The role sits at the leadership table within this division and coaches / counsels on how to serve the organization as responsible and compassionate leaders.

The ideal candidate for this role has phenomenal planning and organizational skills, and excellent consultative skills.  They must be an exceptional communicator, both in written, visual, and verbal mediums, and have a desire and willingness to take ownership on tasks and responsibilities with minimal direction. The successful candidate will manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment, with a positive, customer service mindset.

The Human Resources & Culture team will depend on this role to ensure the best possible employee experience for the Development Division, to use sound judgment when making decisions and to serve as the first point of contact to triage Development requests for the broader Human Resources
