About the role

Job Description Summary

As the leader of the Outage Parts Planning team, you will lead and develop a high-impact and diverse organization responsible for Outage Parts Planning and delivery of recommended Spare Parts lists aligned to the latest standard by technology and customized to scope, achieving both operational excellence and productivity targets.

Through close collaboration with the Regions, CMPD, Fleet Management, and Value Stream teams, you will ensure the delivery of robust spare-parts recommendations while driving continuous improvement across the process.

The Global Outage Parts Planning Director plays a critical role in outage planning by ensuring on-time parts availability, enabling smooth outage execution, and preventing impacts to the critical path.

Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • EHS: play a leadership role in promoting and driving a proactive EHS culture across the organization, acting as a role model to our employees. Drive the reduction of risk of incidents by removing opportunities for injuries and fostering a strong safety culture.

  • Quality: Establish and maintain a quality framework around Outage Parts Planning. Play a key role driving operational improvements and mitigating actions resulting from past performance and future anticipated risks across the portfolio. Ensure Regional Leadership and stakeholders are well versed with standard work expectations from the COE and aligned with the deliverables

  • Delivery: Shape a strategy for Outage Spares recommended lists on time delivery, leading the definition of work distribution/loading (across teams, individuals, & technologies) and identify demand versus capacity gap. Align the strategy with business SQDC targets. Relentless focus on driving improvement in all aspects of our Outage Spares (Non-Capital Parts) planning and execution performance through implementation of global standards that has a positive impact on our outage execution for customers. Partner with the Regions, CMPD, OFS and other functions to identify and mitigate risks identified via our processes, supporting our teams to maximize our performance as a business

  • Cost & Cash: drive performance through accuracy and optimization of quantities of recommended parts, and productivity across Outage Spare Parts planning operations.

  • Embrace lean: play a leadership role to improve our process capabilities to deliver for our front-line teams and customers. Run Kaizen events and Problem-Solving Reports (PSRs) aimed at reducing cycle times and improve performance. Own the Global Outage Parts planning process improvement calendar (PSR, Kaizen, projects). Coach the team on the application of lean tools (standard work, daily management, problem solving, etc.). 

  • Major projects: Shape a strategy for Outage Spares recommended lists on time delivery, leading the definition of work distribution/loading (across teams, individuals, & technologies) and identify demand versus capacity gap. Align the strategy with business SQDC targets

  • Escalations: Drive global process to manage operational escalations globally in the most efficient way that supports our delivery to customers.

  • Management Reviews: Develop, own and drive the Global Outage Parts Planning Bowler. Activate daily management across the whole of the COE teams. Own daily management and MOR KPI Delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (OR an Associates degree from a college and significant experience in a power generation industry)
  • Significant experience in Operations, Project Management or similar experience
  • Background in Field Services Execution and Planning as TFA/Outage Manager or similar fields such as Engineering / Materials Management / Sourcing/ Contract Management
  • Project Management, contract understanding & customer management experience; knowledge & experience leading cross functional teams
  • Relevant experience in a people leader role
  • Conflict management – ability to balance regional dynamics and global standards
  • Excellent communication skills and authentic leadership
