What is the position? 
4D Tech Solutions, a Cognosante company, is seeking an on-site Facilities Specialist to support a key customer at an Army research facility.  This position is responsible for performing routine facility maintenance and upkeep tasks.  Additional responsibilities will be inventory management, facility improvements and repair of equipment. The ideal candidate will possess a wide range of mechanical knowledge and good organizational skills.
 
What will I get to do?  

• Ensure test, workshop, or laboratory facility and equipment is maintained in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

• Conducts material inspections, building and equipment maintenance and inspection, compliance inspections, waste disposal. 

• Executes repairs expeditiously to maximize availability, as well as performs preventative maintenance on buildings, vehicles, and equipment.  Develops and follows a preventative maintenance schedule.

• Generates material or service procurement requirements to facilitate continued operation of the facility.

• May operate heavy equipment as needed to maintain grounds or conduct facility repairs.

• Maintains detailed inventory of parts and equipment utilizing the APEX Blossom Point inventory Management System.

• Provides on-site support for test events; fabricate and/or procures all required components. Provides recommendations for enhancing the overall site improvements and implements changes as requested by the customer. 

 
What qualifications do I need? 

• Ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited program.

• Able to work daily onsite at the Blossom Point Research Facility in Welcome, Maryland

• Physically able to bend, twist, lift and carry around 50 lbs. unassisted, walk and stand for extended periods while managing facility needs

• Able to work proficiently using computer-based applications that include Microsoft 365 Suite; Word, Teams, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Experience drafting reports and collecting or researching necessary documentation/information for presentations and reports.

 
What additional characteristics will help me thrive?  

• 2+ years’ experience working with metals, modifying fiberglass, hard metal welding and fabrication of small parts and materials.

• 2+ years’ experience with plumbing, carpentry, painting, dry wall installation and repair.

• 1+ year experience in inventory asset management preferable with APEX Blossom Point inventory Management System.

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a fast-paced military environment

• Current or recent experience supporting DoD contracts.

• Ability to coordinate on significant issues with government, Prime Contractor team, and commercial vendors to develop execution strategy, gather quotes, provide courses of action, and oversee selected solution(s). 

• Willing to perform other work-related duties as assigned.

$58,045.66 - $96,935.81
