How can you make a difference?

Join our dynamic Janakpur field office team to provide technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the WASH programming process across Madhesh province (or the provinces covered by Janakpur Field Office). You will prepare, manage and implement a variety of technical and administrative tasks, related to the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the WASH output results from the field office coverage that largely contributes to the Nepal country programme. 

You will also provide technical assistance to provincial and local governments and implementing partners to strengthen WASH systems, institutional capacity, and safely managed and climate-resilient service delivery. The role also contributes to humanitarian preparedness and response, particularly in drought/ flood-prone areas, while promoting evidence-based programming, cross-sectoral collaboration, and equitable access to sustainable WASH services.

Within the Janakpur Field Office, these functions are undertaken with a strong focus on strengthening WASH systems and decentralized service delivery by supporting provincial and local governments in planning, implementation, monitoring, and capacity development. The role contributes to improving governance, institutional capacity, evidence-based planning, and climate-resilient WASH services, while promoting equitable access to water, sanitation and hygiene in communities, schools, and healthcare facilities. It also supports preparedness and response to recurrent floods, droughts and other emergencies in Madhesh Province.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

Minimum requirements

• Education: Bachelor or equivalent (First Level University Degree) in Public Health, Civil Engineering, Social Sciences, Sanitary Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, Behavior Change Communication and any other related field.
• Work Experience: At least 2 years of relevant work experience in WASH (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), WASH systems strengthening, WASH governance, rural water supply, sanitation, hygiene promotion, climate resilience, disaster risk reduction, humanitarian response, programme management, monitoring and evaluation, or any other related field.
• Skills: WASH governance, Humanitarian WASH preparednes, Climate-resilient WASH, Water safety planning, Sanitation and hygiene, Systems strengthening.
• Language Requirements: English - Proficient/Fluent, Nepali - Proficient/Fluent.
