How can you make a difference? 

This consultancy will play a transformative role in empowering communities and institutions through the integration of WASH-IPC and CLTS/CATS tools within climate-resilient WASH interventions across selected townships. By fostering a robust sanitation market, promoting access to sustainable sanitation infrastructure, and enhancing community resilience, this assignment will contribute to advancing Myanmar's progress toward achieving universal access to WASH services. The consultant will provide critical support in the following areas:

• Conducting community stakeholder advocacy, local market surveys, and KAP studies.
• Delivering CLTS and WASH-IPC training to community volunteers.
• Training local sanitation entrepreneurs on manufacturing climate-resilient sanitation products and building toilets.
• Providing technical support for conditional cash transfers to vulnerable households for constructing climate-resilient toilets.
• Ensuring quality assurance in building climate-resilient sanitation facilities in communities.
• Organizing youth-driven campaigns to raise awareness about climate risks, mitigation measures, and disaster preparedness.
• Supervising construction progress and ensuring the quality of WASH facilities in schools and health centers.
• Documenting human-interest stories that highlight the business case for WASH.
• Monitoring the progress of integrated climate-resilient WASH interventions monthly.

Duration Of Assignment: 10 months

Duty station/Geographic Area: Naypyitaw (Remote/home-based) with 75% field travel

The assignment is home-based; however, major tasks will be field work and he/she will have to be present in the field most of the time. The consultant will need the extensive travel to the field in two project townships and spend 75% of his/her time. The estimated travel frequency and locations are described below.
