To harness the power of new technologies and accelerate digital transformation, we created a new Clinical Data & AI Processing (CDAIP) department within Clinical Sciences and Operations. The Global Head of AI-Driven Innovations in CDAIP is a business leader driving the strategy to apply artificial intelligence and cutting-edge innovations to transform clinical data processing and analytics, enhancing drug development processes and patient outcomes.

This role requires a deep understanding of clinical data management and statistical programming combined with a vision for how AI can enhance these areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in traditional biometrics practices and the ability to lead their evolution through AI integration.

Main responsibilities include:

Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead a comprehensive strategy to revolutionize traditional clinical data processing through AI-powered solutions, enabling:

• Real-time, interactive access to clinical data

• Advanced signal detection and trend analysis

• Seamless integration of AI-driven analytics for accelerated insights

• Transformation of traditional data workflows into intelligent, automated processes

• Enhancement of clinical decision-making through predictive analytics

Innovation Driver: identify emerging technologies and methodologies in AI and data science that can augment traditional approach in data management and analyses; spearhead the development and implementation of innovative AI solutions that enhance data management and statistical programming; manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects that bridge traditional clinical data process with advanced AI capabilities in clinical development

Team Leadership: build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of Innovation Project Leaders, Business Analysts, and Experts in Clinical Data & Analytics; promote a collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and problem-solving; foster a culture of innovation, continuous learning, and excellence within the team and ensure CDAIP and CSO stay at the forefront of industry advancements

Stakeholder Management: collaborate with senior leadership to align department goals with overall company strategy; partner with clinical and Digital teams to ensure seamless integration of AI and data processing solutions into existing workflows

Compliance and Ethics: ensure all AI and data processing activities comply with relevant regulations and ethical standards; develop and maintain robust data governance and security protocols related to AI; stay informed about evolving regulations and industry standards related to AI in healthcare

About you

• 10+ years of experience in leadership roles within clinical data management, biostatistics, AI, or related fields in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry

• Advanced degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field; additional qualifications in Data Science or AI are a plus

• Extensive experience in clinical data management and analytics in clinical development

• Understanding of machine learning, natural language processing, and other relevant AI technologies and how AI technologies can enhance traditional clinical data practices

• Comprehensive knowledge of clinical development processes, statistical methodologies, and regulatory requirements related to clinical data and analytics

• Visionary mindset with a passion for driving innovation in clinical data and analytics

• Proven track record of leadership in biometrics functions and accomplishment in driving transformational change

• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills; ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
