About the role

Mission Summary:

The Senior Pit Crew Operations Specialist will lead a team of specialists that will be handling daily tasks in the garage to assist with a more efficient and speedy process of moving missions and vehicles forward. They will communicate with management and across departments to ensure the needs and goals are being met by the testing and engineering teams. While efficiency is crucial, nothing comes before safety when creating and implementing new processes and procedures.

The Motional Las Vegas office is located less than 10 miles from the Las Vegas strip at 730 E Pilot Road, the Las Vegas office is home to one of the largest fleets of self-driving vehicles. The city’s grid system of roads and being one of America’s “smart cities” allows for extensive research and development testing.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead a team of specialists
  • Identify areas of improvement based on observations and data collected
  • Collect current procedures and work cross-functionally to evolve processes with the needs of the operation
  • Collaborate and strategize with cross teams to identify other areas lacking efficiencies
  • Create plans and procedures to address the areas needing improvement and efficiency 
  • Create written reports and proposals on improvement plans
  • Often present to management and stakeholders
  • Oversee the procedures of this team in action
  • Provide feedback to direct reports both for positive results and positive reinforcement
  • Provide direct reports with coaching and directions as appropriate and when necessary
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with leading or supervising small to medium-sized teams
  • Experience in the automotive industry or fleet management preferred
  • Able to present in front of small-medium groups with or without a script
  • Exemplary organizational and time management skills
  • Skilled in Microsoft/G-Suite applications, including PowerPoint/Slides, Excel/Sheets, Word/Doc
  • Prior experience with JIRA and JQL/SQL
  • Some familiarity with software lifecycles
  • Ability to learn new skills and new software quickly and efficiently
  • Solution-oriented
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
