Job Description
Position Overview
As a Senior Manager, Origination, you will be responsible for marketing the company's development services and projects to its customers. This role will also play a key part in the execution of commercial offtake arrangements (Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) , Build-Transfers (BTAs), Development Transfers (DTAs) or Asset Purchases (APAs). The ideal candidate will possess a strong commercial acumen, a broad understanding of energy markets, infrastructure economics, and experience interfacing externally with various stakeholders and customers. Successful candidates will work on a variety of technologies critical to Invenergy's business growth including solar, wind, battery storage, and natural gas fired generation. This role requires clear communication, organization, and proficient coordination across multiple facets of the organization. Responsibilities
Support the Senior Director of Origination and commercial leadership in the execution of company goals
Develop and maintain strong customer and business relationships in the external marketplace with key utility partners
Develop an understanding and expertise for Invenergy's project portfolio across various verticals including solar, wind, battery storage, and natural gas fired generation technolgies
Keep the business and business leaders informed on market conditions, changes, and updates that impact market positioning
Help develop project specific and regional market strategies to ensure that key organizational goals and origination targets are met
Oversee the development of proposals, pricing, due diligence, presentations, and responses for RFPs
Prepare and deliver internal presentations, pricing proposals, and business updates
Provide regular updates to internal stakeholders on deal progress
Identify new origination opportunities across all technologies and products and implement an outreach strategy for greenfield projects under development
Coordinate closely with internal Development, Finance, Engineering, Regulatory Affairs, and other departments to develop solutions for customers
Originate deal opportunities and assist with structuring large wholesale power transactions in coordination with Commercial Transactions team
Coordinate with Sales Operations Managers and Analysts to progress opportunities towards execution
Maintain CRM with latest status of opportunities and outreach efforts
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field
At least 6-10+ years of relevant professional experience
Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future
Preferred Qualifications
MBA (or similar advanced degree preferred)
Direct strategy of origination team and related groups to respond to customers and create opportunities with customers for Invenergy's pipeline
Knowledge of power markets, with a preference for MISO, SERC, TVA customers, associated transactions, and market design
Coordinate with Development, Finance, Engineering, Legal and other departments in order to prepare exhibits and other documentation to the commercial transaction
Renewable or thermal project development experience preferred
Experience managing contracting process, negotiating agreements
Ability to represent Invenergy at conference events with customers and industry participants
Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
Base Pay
165,000.00 - 185,000.00 USD Annual
Bonus: 25% - 40%
