Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee daily bookkeeping activities in accordance with Polish accounting standards and IFRS, including accounts payable, fixed assets, advance reports, bank reconciliations, payroll, and tax calculations.
- Prepare and review statutory financial statements in compliance with Polish regulations.
- Ensure the accurate preparation and timely filing of tax returns, including VAT, CIT, and related compliance activities.
- Handle VAT refund processes and ensure compliance with tax legislation.
- Prepare and submit required statistical reports (e.g., GUS).
- Liaise with external auditors and tax authorities, supporting audits and regulatory inspections.
- Review monthly salary calculations, payouts, and per diems in collaboration with a third-party payroll provider.
- Support the preparation of management reports for the parent company using NetSuite.
- Generate periodic financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual) for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in optimizing and streamlining accounting processes for operational efficiency.
Requirements
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong expertise in Polish accounting, tax, and labor legislation.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in statutory accounting or financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience in managing external audits and cooperating with tax authorities.
- Familiarity with the accounting practices of international companies, preferably within the IT sector.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong English communication skills (upper-intermediate or above).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Practical knowledge of daily accounting tasks, statutory reporting, VAT compliance, and payroll review.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to generate actionable insights for stakeholders.
