Summary
The CFO is part of the Management team and reports directly to the CEO. The CFO is responsible for the financial operations of an orthopedic practice with 250+ employees and multiple clinical sites to include the development of a financial strategy, metrics tied to that strategy, and the on-going development and monitoring of control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results. This position is also responsible for overseeing and directing all financial activities of the organization by performing the below listed duties personally or through subordinate employees.
The CFO will serve on the leadership team and provide input into strategic and financial opportunities. The CFO will present financial information to the Partnership and provide direction in Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Financial Reporting, Payroll, and Retirement Plan Administration. Further, the CFO will be responsible for directing and overseeing primary accounting and finance functions to include: general ledger accounting, internal financial reporting, financial planning (budgeting), financial analysis and pro-forma preparation for proposed growth opportunities. These functions include establishing and maintaining, in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP); accounting principles, practices, procedures and other of organization matters. This position is a key point of contact for management and physicians. The CFO will have the following direct reports.

This position requires a comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, budgeting and physician compensation matters. In addition, this position will require strong relationship skills, as well as mentoring and leadership skills for the CSOG accounting and finance team. Core duties and responsibilities are:
Accounting, Finance and Administration
- Participate in key decisions as a member of the Executive Management Team
- Maintain in-depth relations with all members of the Management Team and all third-party vendors that CSOG contracts or otherwise works with.
- Manage the accounting and tax activities.
- Oversee all financial and accounting operations
- Oversees all financing strategies and activities, as well as banking relationships.
- Oversee cash flow planning and ensure availability of funds as needed.
- Oversee cash, investment and asset management.
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Directs the annual financial audit/review and any other special audits. Directs the preparation of the annual tax returns for all entities.
- Directs the development and implementation of the annual operating and capital budget process.
- Directs, forecasts, and analyzes the impact of special projects or new services and acquisitions; (i.e. proposed new locations, equipment purchases).
- Conducts meetings with management to review and discuss budgets and financial issues.
- Directs financial accounting functions including general ledger maintenance, annual financial audits, monthly financial statement preparation, and monthly variance analysis to ensure timely and accurate reporting of clinic and department financial information.
- Oversees patient, general accounting and cash management functions. Works closely with outside accounting firms regarding annual audits and tax filings.
- Analyzes expenditures, directs financial strategies and ensures appropriate income/cash flow.
- Prepares financial analysis for contract negotiations and investment decisions.
- Directs and coordinates debt financing and debt service payments with external agencies.
- Directs the accounting operations of ancillaries, especially their control systems, transaction processing operations.
- Coordinates inventory audit and recommends cost saving strategies to the CEO.
- Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
- Works with the CEO to develop and approve financial statements, including balance sheets, profit/loss statements and analysis of variances in accounts, ratios, financial statistics income/expense, as well as investments analysis (i.e. effects of fee changes on costs and profits, return on investment).
