About the role

Under the direction of the Retail Director, the Sr. Manager of Retail Operations is a strategic leader responsible for driving operational excellence, guest experience, and profitability across the property and assists in strategic planning of other assets within the company upon request. Acts as a regional level leader and is responsible for driving operational excellence, leading people focused strategies and developing future leaders. Creates elevated guest experiences that align with the brand and business goals. Oversees all aspects of retail operations, including staffing, training, visual presentations that bring the brand to life, event execution, and revenue generation, with a strong focus on innovation, service, and profitability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Analyzes operating and financial statements to track KPI’s, quickly pivot through financial opportunity, and identifies GAP analysis for growth. Provides champion operational excellence by ensuring seamless and consistent retail execution across all store locations, pop up concepts, and event activations. Ensures visual concepts are compelling and inviting, creates floor sets and manages store opening visual strategies.
2.    Leads strategic visioning for the enterprise's retail footprint, including fixture placements, and curated design elements that enhance the guest experience contributing to long term plans and quarterly business strategy. Partnerships in building and managing budgets, ensuring adherence to financial goals and maximizing profitability through expense control, revenue optimization and focus on increasing year over year performance while adhering to enterprise compliance initiatives. Drives cash revenue growth to maintain profit margins.
3.    Develops and implements training and workshop curriculum for visual and operations, onboarding programs and continuous learnings that promote engagement and team morale that motivates team to achieve sales and service goals. Partners collaboratively on hiring, onboarding, and retention strategies to build a high performing, guest focused team.
4.    Develops and implements motivational incentives for retail staff, track employee results and modifies goals accordingly. Provides coaching and mentorship to optimize productivity and increase sales; oversees the operations of multiple retail locations and event activations.
5.    Monitors and reconciles inventory, making sure to always maintain adequate levels of merchandise to maintain profit.
6.    Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department and property.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning reviewing and directing work; evaluating and appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Makes hiring decisions and designs individual development plans with succession planning in mind for all key roles.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in retail required.
  • Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience in a large-scale retail or multi-store environment required.
  • Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

  • Must have hands-on knowledge of retail systems and operations.
  • Familiarity with human resources best practices, including hiring, training, and performance management.
  • Demonstrates exceptional organization, strategic planning and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to work independently and as a team player.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and individuals.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have experience managing large amounts of inventory.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point is necessary.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

  • At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
  • No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
