Principal Scientist, Data Science (Pricing Optimization) - Hybrid

What you’ll need to succeed as a Principal Scientist, Data Science at XPO:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work or military experience
• 5 years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying optimization solutions
• Experience in pricing optimization, demand forecasting, utilizing statistical modeling, machine learning, and reinforcement learning techniques.
• Strong experience with SQL, Python and Java
• Experience using statistical modeling to solve business problems
• A deep understanding of machine learning techniques and experience applying them to solve business problems.
• Track record in leading cross-functional initiatives that span across the organization.
• Ability to translate complex data sets and research into simple business recommendations.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science or related field Strong leadership and communication skills
• 7+ years of hands-on experience in developing and deploying optimization solutions
• Experience in pricing optimization, demand forecasting, utilizing statistical modeling, machine learning, and reinforcement learning techniques.
• Experience with causal inference and measurement methods for analyzing the impact of pricing algorithms on revenue
• Experience with reinforcement learning for pricing optimization, decision-making, and consumer behavior modeling
• Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team
• Significant peer-reviewed scientific contributions in premier journals and conferences
• Superior verbal and written communication and presentation skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts
